Sugar Crash!
Sugar Crash! Sugar Rush! Sugar makes the world go round. A spoonful of sugar… aw, you probably know the rest.
We have had an interesting history with the sweet, high energy nectar of the gods. And, it ain’t all good!
We started out, on the ancestral plains, searching for high energy foods to sustain us.
In a short (relatively speaking) time, we went from a scarcity mindset to an overabundance. Yet, we are unable to change our instinctual craving.
From one point of the sugar trade triangle to high fructose in everything!
This image is my reminder that there can be too much of a good thing.
Be mindful.
Sweet Blasts is an exploration of my apprehension about what we are doing to our food supply. Whether through neglect or short sightedness, we are all too often jeopardizing our future with the choices we make to bring food to our tables.
These images are designed to spark a conversation and help us to be more aware of where we get our next meal.

Each Sweet Blasts piece is printed on a polished aluminum sheet, using dye sublimation, is signed and numbered on the back and is ready to hang in your gallery, boardroom, or kitchen.
They are available in four different sizes.
5x7 is an edition of 100.
16x20 is an edition of 50.
24x30 is an edition of 30
40x50 is an edition of 7.
The prints are durable, travel well and have even been subjected to the harsh realities of being hung near the shampoo station at Kent Newton Salon during a pop up show, without a problem. Try that with a watercolor painting…
Like any piece of art that uses pigments and dyes, they should not be subjected to direct sunlight or harsh chemicals. (But, I have been known to use a light glass cleaner and clean cloth to remove finger prints.)
